Trinity-Henleaze United Reformed Church aims to offer a welcome to all, and good, accessible community meeting spaces in the heart of Henleaze. With a central location, we have a perfect opportunity to be a place where people of all ages, all abilities and all walks of life can meet together in a spirit of friendship and Christian fellowship. We are planning to rebuild and redevelop some of our Church and Community buildings. We hope that you will welcome the changes. Who are we?We are Trinity-Henleaze United Reformed Church, in the centre of Henleaze, on the Henleaze Road / Waterford Road junction. We are a large community of all ages with a membership of 250 people, many of whom meet regularly to worship God and share fellowship together. We would like to welcome even more people into our lively and loving community. This project is about offering good quality, accessible, community space to anyone who wants to use it. What are we doing? We are planning to rebuild the Waterford Hall in Waterford Road, link it to the church, build a connecting walkway from the church to the smaller community hall, upgrade facilities throughout the buildings and create a new, improved, accessible space that the whole community can enjoy. We aim to build an ecologically responsible, visually interesting, welcoming building that reflects concern for the environment and celebrates the life of the community. The Heart of the MatterSince the Henleaze and Trinity churches became one united church in 2003, we have welcomed new members. Some parts of the building need expansion to accommodate the larger congregation. At the same time community use has increased year on year - with some 900 people using the buildings regularly. Our church buildings are in the heart of Henleaze - a perfect centre from which we can offer safe and secure community space for private meetings, group activities, arts and crafts, music, dance, discussion, celebrations or simply to have fun - enriching all our lives in a spirit of friendship. The Church is a popular venue for music. It is the home of the Henleaze Concert Society, and a favoured venue for a wide range of musical artistes, including local schools. People from the local community, and beyond, enjoy concerts in the Church's excellent acoustics. The project will enhance the facilities for musicians and concert-goers alike. Something for everyone
