Junior Church

We have a full and lively Junior Church with around 50 children and young people from infants up to the age of 18. All are welcome.

Normally the youngsters come into the church service at 10:30am then go out to their groups after the second hymn.

Sunday12th October.	Invitation to the feast.	A wedding feast where guests don't arrive and a replacement guest is turned away. What is our response to God's banquet?	Matthew 22. 1-14.
Sunday 19th October.	Two sides of the coin.	The Pharisees try to trick Jesus with difficult questions. How can we as Christians live in society?	Matthew 22. 15-11.
Sunday 26th October.	The law of love.	Jesus encounters the Pharisees again and talks about the greatest commandment - to love God and one another.	Matthew 22. 34-46.

November 2008

Sunday 2nd November.	We are all students.	Jesus looks at what it means to be a good learner and what it means to be a good teacher.	Matthew 23, verses 1 to 12.
Sunday 9th November.	Are we ready?	Jesus tells the parable of the bridesmaids. Some were ready for the Bridegroom and some weren't. Are we?	Matthew 25, verses 1 to 13.
Sunday 16th November.	Children of light.	How can we be children of the light and let God's message shine through us?	Matthew 25, verses 14 to 30.
Sunday 23rd November.		Gift Service for Christmas - in Church.
Sunday 30th November.	Watch the signs.	This is the beginning of Advent. What signs were there that the Son of Man was coming?	Mark 13, verses 24 to 37.

December 2008

Sunday 7th December.	Be prepared.	John the Baptist was crying out in the desert that Jesus was coming. What do we need to do to be ready to meet with Jesus?	Mark 1, verses 1 to 8.
Sunday 14th December.	Finding ourselves.	John the Baptist knew who he was and his part in Jesus' story. Who are we and what part can we play?	John 1, verses 6 to 8, 19 to 28.
Sunday 21st December.	Are you willing?	We know who we are and what we need to do - but are we willing to do it?	Luke 1, verses 47 to 55.
Sunday 28th December.	Look back, look ahead.	Simeon and Anna meet the baby Jesus. They had looked back and then ahead. We do the same.	Luke 2, verses 22 to 40.
